William Mora’s practice revolves around the process of reinterpreting ancient board and card games. Through his cultural prism shaped by personal interest including Japanese anime, video games graphic design and sound sampling, his work illustrates a coming-of-age take on centuries-old games. In Mora's digital drawings, a subtle asymmetric grid structures the visual abundance of repeated patterns giving a simultaneous sense of ordered density and instinctive flow. The resulting graphical design captivates and engages the viewer to discover the significance behind these fine-detailed cryptic diagrams. William works out of his studio in Quebec city, Canada.
